LeBron’s business partner and close friend Maverick Carter fed those talks during a 2016 GQ Interview. At the time, Maverick made an upward move when asked about the value of LeBron’s lifetime deal. He was a key player in negotiating the contract.
“Yeah. It’s a great deal. Nike feels great about this deal. That’s the most important thing. As good as I feel, as great as LeBron—Nike feels fantastic about it. It’s the biggest deal in the company’s history,” Maverick said. His hope is that he makes even more. And our hope is too, obviously.”
