Drew DeCaro’s Halloween Playlist Picks

Bauhaus, “Bela Lugosi’s Dead”

Drew: There’s no goth scene without this record. It’s not really a joint party, but you have to give credit where due.

Rockwell, “Somebody’s Watching Me”

It’s more cool than it is scary, but my first metal band used to cover it in the ’00s and we rocked it. (I’ll always remember exactly where I was when I was trying to figure out how to play it.)

Marilyn Manson “Sweet Dreams”

I was in 5th grade when Manson was very big. Overnight he changed the fashion among criminals, and now looking back on him; His style has always been impeccable. He gave so many kids something to say of his own, even if the song wasn’t his [laughs],

Nine Inch Nails, “Into the Void”

Back when Manson was putting all that effort into fashion and shock value, nails were just busy making So Best music ever. Arguably, this place should be ‘closer’, it’s a crowd-pleaser. But I’ll probably play them both.

Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, “Nightmare on My Street”

I got this CD from the local library. Then, credit where it is due. I want to see Jazzy Jeff’s Halloween setlist.

Michael Jackson, “Thriller”

You’re not going away without rolling it.

The Nightmare Before Christmas, “It’s Halloween”

You must have the right crowd to avoid it at night. But shout out Burton and Elfman.

Outkast, “Dracula’s Wedding”

Later in the evening, you’ll have to curb the horror and give the dancefloor some action.

HollywoodLife: What’s a major Halloween memory for you?

Drew: A memory that will haunt me forever is the Exotic Erotic Ball in SF, probably like 2007. It’s this wild costume party/fetish fest/all-around creeps show held at some weird floating military base under a bridge in San Francisco. I went there to perform, none of us knew what we were in for. it was dark. All I remember is that the opening act for us was a woman getting her lady bits shaved live with a comically straight razor by a mustache barber; He looked half out of Peaky Blinders, half out of Ringling Brothers. It was mildly entertaining. Then my bassist took the LSD and played the whole show naked. I dressed up as a prince. It was a terrible show but memorable, and I would do it again.

What do you think will be the most popular costume this Halloween? What should be on your mind?

what Will be the most popular outfit? can i say toss-up strange things And excitement Pot? Is this a hoax? Exactly the same thing is going to happen.

what should Are you the most? Man, I don’t know, the world is on fire. Anything related to a natural disaster. Anyway this is the real scariest crap.

Do you have any October or Halloween traditions?

At my first studio house in LA (‘The LP House’), we Always Throwing a ridiculous Halloween party. five years straight. complete destruction. Eventually, my men started running out of the East Coast to participate. And they would never come otherwise, haha. My mom made their costumes for the last time, everyone loved them. Now that I’m thinking about it, we’re going to throw the party completely out of control this year as well. It’s good that I don’t have to go home.

If a studio gives you a blank check and a run to the library, what horror movie are you remaking? Or, you can create a new one.

If I could remake a horror movie from the past, maybe troll 2maybe I will Troll 3: Return to Nilbog. If I could write my own, there would probably be aliens and vampires. vampires beat the aliens, but it’s No Happy Ending. I love sad, disturbing endings. That, or maybe I’ll let the youth save the day. Kids are the smartest, bravest people we’ve met, so yeah maybe I wanted to teach them a lesson.

What’s on tap for the rest of the month – and the final weeks of 2022?

october. I’m in the Midwest for a whole month at my new Vampire Musical Workshop! It goes on stage on Halloween. this is insane. We’re having a reading table with the cast as I sit here and write this.
