Tamil Nadu Fishermen Federation executive committee member Jobai Gomes from Villivakkat in Chennai has filed a case against the recently released film ‘Hathi’ directed by Hari starring actor Arun Vijay.
In the petition, he said the film “Haathi” portrayed fishermen as anti-social, fishermen as mercenaries and child abusers.
Since some of the scenes are derogatory to religious sentiments, the petition requested that the continuous screening of the film with scenes insulting fishermen should be banned and the censor certificate issued to the film be canceled.

When this petition came up for hearing in the session of Chief Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari and Justice Mala, the petitioner said that every scene of the film has hurt the people of the fishermen community.
Have you appealed against the Censor Board order? After questioning the petitioner side, the judges allowed the petitioner side to appeal against the audit evidence to the audit committee and closed the case.
