KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya suffered severe consequences as a result of their contentious appearance on Koffee With Karan. The BCCI suspended the Indian cricketers during the series against Australia as they came under fire for their misogynistic comments on the couch. As most people are aware, Rahul’s father-in-law is Suniel. The cricketer is wed to Athiya Shetty, his acting daughter. Many people thought that KL did not deserve the penalty he received throughout the issue because Hardik had said what needed to be said. After three long years, the Jodhpur High Court dismissed a lawsuit brought against the pair. 

Suniel Shetty responded to everything by saying, “You know when that interview of him (KL Rahul) and Hardik (Pandya) appeared… Hardik most likely went off the rails. But what do you do when an anchor (Karan Johar) is forcing it down your throat? Therefore, the format of the programme (Koffee With Karan) is to get kids interested and have them say inappropriate things before Bollywood is outlawed.

Suniel Shetty continued, “I think we all need to be accountable because if you ask me a question that I feel I can’t answer, it doesn’t mean (I should feel) that I am inferior to anyone. You are the anchor, and I am the guest. Things should never go wrong, but when that does, things start to go wrong. You need the guts to speak things the way they are and how they ought to be.
